Obtaining Publications
The National Criminal Justice
Reference Service (NCJRS) is a federally funded resource that offers
juvenile and criminal justice and substance abuse information to support
research, policy, and program development. Federal sponsors include the
U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ's) Office of Justice Programs' offices
and bureaus, other DOJ agencies, and the Office of National Drug Control
Policy in the Executive Office of the President.
One of the many services offered is the NCJRS Library and its online,
searchable Abstracts
Database, one of the largest in the world. The Abstracts Database
contains summaries of more than 205,000 products from the early 1970s to
the present and has full-text links to more than 7,000 publications. Topics
include gun crime, firearms use, law enforcement, victims, corrections,
drugs and crime, and juvenile justice.
The NCJRS Library offers several ways to obtain products. Most of the
titles are available online through the NCJRS Web site, see Publications/Products
to view online or place an online order for a paper copy.
