Youth Attend Group Meetings for Probationers in North Carolina Salisbury community leaders hold group support meetings for probationers to help them get back on their feet. Law enforcement officials invited a group of at-risk juveniles to attend the meetings to warn them of the consequences and effects of prison and committing crime. MORE>

Free Gun Locks from Project ChildSafe in South Carolina
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina recently joined forces with Project ChildSafe to distribute free gun locks to the community. Although the county averages only one accidental shooting a year, the sheriff's office feels that it is one too many.

PSN Meetings Scare Parolees in Chicago
Parolees that attended federally funded PSN meetings in a Chicago neighborhood were rearrested 18 percent less than those who did not attend the meetings. The meetings warn parolees of the stiff sentences they will receive if arrested again.

South Carolina Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Charges
Fort Mill man, 52, pled guilty to being in possession of firearms after police recovered seven firearms and ammunition from his residency on March 8. The case was investigated under Project CeaseFire, a nationwide initiative that prosecutes firearms cases. MORE>

New public service advertisements designed to reduce gun violence have been implemented by Project CeaseFire in South Carolina. The nationwide campaign demonstrates the consequences, impacts, and dangers of gun crime with the use of print, radio, and TV advertisements. MORE>
